So much can be said about Dietrich, and so much is written about him in media and print. He is a legend in Rosendale NY, Mr Cement himself.
When we first met Dietrich he was a very open minded and exceptionally kind individual. He welcomed us with open arms at the Century House Museum, something we never got being an old mine exploration group. But Dietrich understood our intentions. He was a walking book on the mining industry of Rosendale Cement, and connected us with many resources in the area. Dietrich took us into beautiful underground workings, and was from all intent and purposes, an ABM Crew member, one that will always be part of the crew.
Unfortunately God called him home on December 15th, 2009, and Dietrich has been missed by all of us ever since. We will never forget the short time we knew him. He was energetic, youthful and full of life. He is survived by his children and wife Gayle Grunwald of the Snyder estate. The Century House is a very close patron of ours, and makes for an excellent visit for individuals, scholars, even family and children. Please visit the Century House at www.centuryhouse.org.
